when the tests were given back, there was a small silence of shock by what i'm presuming were people worried about their grade results. we were then offered to make a unanimous decision as to what we want to happen for the next test. if the vote wasn't unanimous, it wouldn't pass.
so there we all were, up against the time. i had plenty of ideas as to what to do, what to try to get, and mainly try to get some of my views passed. while i was raising my hand in the beginning, i found many shared similar hatred towards some of my issues, especially multiple multiple choice. oh how i dislike the inability to have partial knowledge on a subject get you the right answer or minimize risk of getting wrong answers.
during the process, i withdrew myself from the process, believing that avoidance is the best for the group. there were many assertive people trying to get their points through, and i knew the last thing we all need is another assertive person.
while it sounds like i was avoidant, i was more or less a accomodator. haven't the issues i wanted arise, i would contribute. i also tried to beleive we could all get what we want. thankfully, i got more than i initially wanted. i also tried to help some person next to me understand what we put on the board.
overall, i don't see how i can change my attitudes to get more than what was being asked for. have i offered an additional comment, another grand discussion would arise and time would be further killed off with the assertive people combatting each other. it turned out very well given a unanimous vote...

As I read your second paragraph, I thought, HE NEEDS TO STUDY. :) if you know it, you know it and if you dont, you dont. Sure it's easier if you know that there is only one solution to each question. But I think that the professor was just trying to test how thoroughly people studied. I thought the test was fair, even though I did worse than you. He basically told us what was going to be on it and also gave us partial credit !

ReplyDeletei think we were all shocked by the exam. I disagree with Foosball...i dont think we knew what to expect from the test and hardly to knew exactly what should be focused. I little more information would of been helpful.
